Ahhh ... i did that once under Ubuntu (so it is possible), but cant remember. Will ask Peter next time he's online (he's usually playing under ubuntu).

i've got the same problem with Win7 and can't fix it. With XP though, it worked fine for me ... maybe you can try to run the "Drakan.exe" with "Compability Mode" (rightclick -> Properties) of Win98.

Oh mann, wieso haben alle so high-end Grakas :P . Also falls es noch Probleme gibt, einfach mal den Patch probieren, den Axe erwähnt hat (mit dem Gold Pack, falls der nicht eh schon dabei ist). Sonst fragst halt noch mal hier ...

Hab auch die deutsche Drakan-Version (inzwischen Denglisch) und kann sogar unter Windows 7 spieln.
Hast du eventuell mal probierte (mit Rechtsklick auf die Drakan.exe und dann Eigenschaften) den Kompatibilitätsmodus auf Win98 zu stellen?

i've got the german version, but all the lanuage files (sounds actually) are about 60 MB - i don't know how to do a reasonable datatransfer without uploading them (copyright).

andreipirate, the game and the menu are all rendered by the graphic card, using DirectX (in case of Drakan). So hooking the DirectX6-calls of Drakan with a newer version of DirectX surely some possibilities to improve the look, especially using shaders.

Shelim, i didn't "learn" it anywhere, that was just the only thing that came to my mind - i didn't think of replacing libraries. So yeah, you're obviously right.

Actually i like its graphics - at least the style, even though from technical view the graphics are not up-to-date. But without disassembler which is forbidden (at least here in Germany) as far as I know; I don't see how to improve it. Of course you could make new levels with self-produced textures ...

Also made some maps for Drakan ... but i wouldn't call myself "level designer", neither artist.

If you're planning to do a "Drakan 3" or something like that ... i don't think you'll get enough ...
